Ebtisam Mohammed is The First Yemeni Woman to Become Member of British Parliament

The lawyer, Ebtisam Mohammed made history by winning a seat in the British Parliament as a Labor Party member. She won the (Sheffield Central). With this victory, she becomes the first Yemeni-origin MP in the British Parliament. Ebtisam Mohammed is a Yemeni girl namely from Abyan governorate in southern Yemen. She landed in the United Kingdom when she was a child and her father worked in the steel factories in Sheffield. Therefore, she focused during her election campaign on the rights of workers in steel factories and others. In 2016, she won a seat in the Sheffield City Council and established an active presence in British politics.

As a lawyer, she provided legal assistance to minority communities and refugees. She also served as an education advisor in Sheffield, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her journey to her current position has been marked by various political and party roles that have enriched her career.
