Muhajirun - Yemeni Migration-Reciprocal Impacts

Emigration

The migration of Yemenis all over the world has attracted the mind of Mr. Alwan Al Shaibani, Chairman of the Universal Group. As a result, he has engaged in many discussions, held meetings, and had conversations with several researchers, academics, writers, and those concerned with the affairs of the first and second generations of Yemeni migrants. The main objective of this study was to change the negative stereotype and highlight the economic, political, and social achievements and the positive effects of Yemenis wherever they land.

Young Yemeni Migrant

Mr. Alwan Al-Shaibani found himself an emigrant when he traveled to Abyssinia, and he had not yet completed his fifteenth year old. After more than sixty years of his migration, Alwan, a citizen of Al-Madhaf village put light on the migration of Yemenis as a social phenomenon that extended from the neighboring Persian (Arabian) Gulf, Asia, and Africa until it crossed over to Europe and America. They also discussed, through these discussions and meetings, the impact of those migrants on the countries that hosted them, how those countries affected them and how they left their mark in return. Mr. Alwan wanted strongly for those adventures, experiences, and journeys to be combined by a national project that examines the social, economic, political, and environmental motives for migration. He also desired through this project to focus on the situation of Yemeni migrants, focusing mainly on their contributions and presenting the positive roles and impact they put wherever they land.

Reunion

Although there were many studies, academic researches, and reports that discussed Yemeni migration; there was an urgent need for a comprehensive study, dominated by diversity and characterized by modernity, a study that many specialists have always dreamed of. "Muhajirun" project attempts to pull Yemeni migrants together by default through adopting a research project ended with an encyclopedia of (9) parts that have been printed in 2022, along with a design of a digital platform containing many studies and books. This project has also included Yemeni migrants of different scientific and professional specializations and interests. "Muhajirun" is a website that provides an opportunity for Yemeni researchers, academics, scientists, and influencers in the immigration countries to get to know each other in the first place. It is also an opportunity to exchange knowledge, experiences, and research that the Yemeni counterpart working in the same field of knowledge may benefit from.

Emigrant Ambition

Al Khair Foundation for Development, the development sector of the Universal Group, commissioned by the Chairman of its Board of Trustees Mr. Alwan Al Shaibani, adopted the task of developing the study and transforming it into a comprehensive research project in the shape of an effective website, entitled "Muhajirun". The main objective of this website is to put light on Yemeni migrations, their destinations, and their contributions to the immigration communities. The website shows the contributions of Yemenis migrants to the immigration countries, and their effectiveness in the aspects of social, economic, political, educational, and cultural life. It also shows how those countries affected them, and how their journey during the migration affected their homelands. The website also presents the complementarity of the conducted theoretical studies with the accomplished field studies which is perhaps the main feature of this website.
