As part of the Al-Khair Foundation for Development's program to promote and disseminate the study "The Mutual Effects of Yemeni Migration" to relevant figures and institutions involved in economic, developmental, and cultural issues, a copy of the study was presented to Mr. Mufid Abdo Saif Al-Ariqi, Director General of the Taiz Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Mr. Faisal Abduljalil Al-Ariqi, Head of the Modernity and Cultural Enlightenment Forum, accepted the copy on his behalf. The presentation was made by Ms. Salwa Muharram, representing the Al-Khair Foundation for Development; Dr. Amr Ma'dikarib Al-Hamdani, a member of the Shura Council; and Mr. Al-Azzi Al-Salawi, Advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates. Those responsible for the presentation emphasized that the economic dimension is a key focus of the study "The Mutual Effects of Yemeni Migration," given the historical role Yemeni migrants have played in trade and investment, and in building economic ties between Yemen and their host countries.
They pointed out that the Yemeni migration experience is closely linked to trade, entrepreneurship, and the movement of capital and expertise, and that many Yemeni cities and regions have benefited directly or indirectly from the contributions of migrants and their economic and commercial relationships. They emphasized that making the study available to economic and commercial leaders presents an opportunity to examine its contents from a specialized perspective and to benefit from practical experience in evaluating the information and analyses it contains related to the economic aspects of migration.
The participants also commended the role played by the Taiz Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the economic field, stressing the importance of communication between research and economic institutions in developing studies that address the role of Yemenis abroad and their economic contributions. For his part, Professor Faisal Abduljalil Al-Ariqi conveyed Professor Mufid Abdo Saif Al-Ariqi's appreciation for this initiative, emphasizing the importance of the study and its contribution to the Yemeni library, and praising the efforts made in documenting the history of Yemeni migration and its multifaceted effects.
As head of the Modernity and Cultural Enlightenment Forum, he also emphasized the importance of utilizing national studies to enrich cultural and intellectual dialogue and to link scientific research to societal and developmental issues. The dedication of the study to the head of the Taiz Chamber of Commerce and Industry is part of the Al-Khair Foundation for Development's efforts to broaden the project's reach to economic, cultural, and media elites, and to enhance its benefit as a scholarly project that documents an important aspect of Yemen's history and its economic, social, and cultural relations with the world.
