Last Thursday, June 22, 2023, the Yemeni capital Sana'a hosted a launch event for a new study entitled "The Mutual Impacts of Yemeni Migration," sponsored by the Late Mr. Alwan Saeed Al-Shibani, the founder of Universal Group and Al-Khair Foundation for Social Development, in addition to the launch of the study's website. The event was attended by several writers, researchers, academics, and those interested in the subject of migration, as well as the General Manager of Universal Group, Mr. Jamal Omar, and the General Manager of Al-Khair Foundation for Social Development, Mr. Sadeq Al-Jama'ei and the Late's grandson, Mr. Bashar Wael, and some of the major group managers, including Ahmed Abdulmalik, the General Manager of the commercial sector, the study team, staff and member of prominent social figures. Some of the study team members spoke about their experience during their participation in this study and presented a summary of the study and its results, they also discussed some parts of the study.
The study addressed the topic of Yemeni migration throughout history and aimed to present the positive achievements of Yemenis, highlighting their contributions both abroad and at home, as well as showcasing their economic, political, and social achievements and the positive impact that Yemenis have had wherever they land. A documentary video about migration was also presented during the event featuring the Late Alwan Saeed Al-Shibani, and some musical performances related to the study's topic were included. Some prominent figures also participated remotely in the event and shared some of their successes and achievements in their migration. At the end of the event, the study team and all those who contributed to it were honored for their great efforts.
